Ta Shebube is a 100% citizen-owned company that was established in 2003. The owners of Ta Shebube have, in their individual capacities, actively and positively contributed in the areas of conservation, biodiversity, eco-system integrity and tourism in Botswana.
The owners of Ta Shebube have always been keen advocates for growing the tourism industry and creating tourist opportunities away from northern Botswana. They believe that the tourism industry should be developed in other areas of the country as well and benefit the population through the creation of employment.
In 2007 Ta Shebube was awarded three concessions in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park (KTP). Two lodges were developed at Rooiputs and Polentswa and the third lodge at Union’s End is yet to be developed should water be found.
The lodges are designed to fit into the natural environment and its operations are carried out in an ecologically sustainable manner where flora and fauna are fully protected and conserved. We support responsible tourism and have put in place programmes to minimise the negative aspect of conventional tourism on the environment and to enhance the cultural integrity of the local communities.
All effort is made to use green technologies and to promote recycling, energy efficiency and water conservation. Solar panels are being extensively used, providing the camps with all power.
One of the goals of Ta Shebube is to create jobs in the local community where employment opportunities are scarce. Staff is therefore as far as possible employed from the neighbouring villages on fixed term contracts, and in accordance with the labour laws of Botswana.
Employees are housed on site in a smartly designed staff village with bedrooms, a kitchen with appropriate cooking and storage facilities, water born toilets and hot and cold showers.
Children over the age of eight (8) years old are welcome to the lodge and a family friendly chalet is available for parents and children under twelve (12) years old. However, parents must be aware of the danger posed by wild animals and the children must be under strict supervision all the time.
