There are private charter flight companies in Upington that can fly from Upington to Twee Rivieren in South Africa or Bokspits in Botswana. Within the park, there are airstrips at Twee Rivieren entry gate and Nossob. These airstrips are available for clients who wish to plan private charter flights independently.
Polentswa Lodge is approximately 220 km from Twee Rivieren gate via the main park roads.
It is about 200 km from Mata Mata gate.
Both routes require driving on gravel and sandy roads suitable for 4×4 vehicles. Travel times can be long due to road conditions, so plan accordingly and allow ample time.
The nearest airport is Upington International Airport in South Africa. There are daily scheduled flights from Johannesburg and Cape town to Upington (SAA Airlink )
From Upington, visitors can arrange transfers or rent a 4×4 vehicle to drive into the park via the Twee Rivieren gate, then continue to Polentswa by road.
The total drive from Upington to Twee Revieren takes about 2 hours, mostly on tarred road.

Rooiputs Lodge: A 4×4 is not required to reach the lodge directly from Twee Rivieren gate, making it accessible to most vehicles.
Polentswa Lodge: A 4×4 vehicle is required due to sandy roads and remote location.
Please note: most roads within the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park beyond the main routes require a 4×4.
Gate times may vary slightly depending on the season, so it’s always best to confirm with park authorities or your lodge closer to your arrival date.
Fuel is available at Twee Rivieren, Nossob, and Mata Mata. Supplies are limited in the park, so it is advisable to stock up on essentials before entering, especially if heading to Polentswa, which is more remote.
